Every season Salesforce releases a lot of new features and enhancements. Our Salesforce Developer Jan Youlton and Functional Salesforce Consultants Arnaud Lageirse and Jonas Meys picked their favourites from the Salesforce Summer ’22 release and summarised them for you.
1. Create custom address fields (Beta)
To improve address data accuracy and your users’ experience, you can now create custom fields that mimic the behavior of standard address fields. On custom objects you can add multiple address blocks to capture unique/distinctive address information to custom objects, or even standard objects, or link multiple custom objects to one address as a custom field.
The fact that an address field can be added on a custom object, instead of having to recreate all the fields one by one, is a big plus. Even though this feature is still beta, you gain a lot of time.
2. Bulk manage picklist values (Beta)
Increase productivity by performing mass operations on both active and inactive picklist values.
Activating, deactivating, deleting, and replacing picklist values was a fastidious task to do, because it had to be done one by one. The fact that this can be done in bulk now, saves you a lot of time.
Furthermore, the error messaging when inserting new picklist values is improved. Duplicate values are now called out explicitly.
3. Customize and filter related lists in the Lightning App Builder
It’s now possible to create, customize, and add filters on related lists directly in the Lightning App Builder, instead of the Page Layout Editor.
Add, remove, reorder columns, configure sort order and dynamic actions, and add filters to your related lists so your users see what you want them to.
Do you want to see the most relevant records? Then you just set up two or more related lists with different filters on the same object. For example, on the contact record page, create one related list to see only the opportunities created in the last 30 days. Then, create a second related list to see all opportunities with an amount over €500,000.
1. Transfer calls more efficiently
Salesforce enhanced the call transfer experience. Thanks to the Omni-Channel Flow, agents can now streamline the customer experience and transfer callers to a flow.
With new transfer filters, agents save time scrolling and can transfer a voice call based on a category, such as Agent or Queue, or by agent availability. Moreover, agents can mark agents that they transfer to frequently as favorites.
With blind transfers, agents can choose whether to start a conference or to transfer the call without context. And with click-to-call, agents on the phone have more flexibility and can choose to skip the Omni-Channel transfer experience, and instead click any phone number in Salesforce to initiate a transfer.

2. Manage caller escalations with supervisor barge-in
Thanks to the barge-in functionality added to Call Monitoring in Omni Supervisor, it’s easier for supervisors to intervene when a call escalates.
Supervisors can listen to an ongoing call from Omni Supervisor and join it to quickly assist an agent.
1. Reorder flows in the Flow Trigger Explorer
Thanks to the Flow Trigger Explorer it’s now possible to reorder record-triggered flows to your desired order of execution. E.g. when certain business logic should proceed other logic.
Moreover, Flow Trigger Explorer lets you manage the run order of record-triggered flows without opening and editing individual flows. You just have to drag them into place.
2. Access the Flow Trigger Explorer in Object Manager
The Flow Trigger Explorer is now accessible directly from the Object Manager.
This provides a convenient overview and quick management of your existing record-triggered flows in the Object Manager.
3. Use formulas as flow entry conditions
A formula builder is now available in the start element of a record-triggered flow. The builder guides you through the syntax and simplifies the process.
Thanks to these formulas there are more possibilities for entry criteria. Instead of waiting until you save a flow, you can check the formula syntax and catch errors as you work.
